United Nations Non Governmental Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons

ICJW is one of 55 organizations who sit on the United Nations Non Governmental Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons. NGOSTIP is dedicated to the eradication of human trafficking in all forms through education, advocacy, research, and monitoring compliance with United Nations treaties, protocols, laws, and resolutions.

We recognize the urgency of raising awareness of trafficking in persons as a violation of Human Rights and the need to advocate for the provision of services to victims and in addition to ensure action at the UN to address the underlying causes of human trafficking.

ICJW   participates on many levels to work towards  achieving the goals to educate ourselves and others about human trafficking and effective process to eradicate it.  We research underlying causes of human trafficking and work to raise awareness on UN Human Rights framework, treaties, protocols, and resolutions, as they relate to trafficking in persons.  We advocate at the UN and with our constituencies to support efforts which provide services to victims of trafficking in persons, advocate for a new UN mechanism to monitor compliance with Palermo Protocols, specifically with regard to prevention, protection, and prosecution.  And facilitate organizing at all levels, especially grassroots, access to UN processes and agencies, and collaboration with current anti-trafficking campaigns.
