leadership training

Isabelle G. Brown Memorial Fund

ICJW promotes broad-based programs for the training of women, to enable them to achieve positions in public life and play a greater role in local, national, and international organizations.

The Isabelle G. Brown Memorial Fund gives training grants every year towards the costs of volunteer training programs run by ICJW affiliates around the world, and funds training sessions at ICJW conferences, seminars and conventions.

The Isabelle G. Brown Memorial Fund was established by the family of a former president of the International Council of Jewish Women from 1966-1969.  The Fund reflects the late Isabelle G. Brown’s belief that leadership training is essential to the development and future growth of a vital organization. Applications for grant awards are submitted to the chairs of the I.G. Brown Training Committee through the ICJW office. The committee consists of one or two co-chairs and the president, plus the honorary treasurer, who review the information on the application form and authorize the awards. A report one month after the event must be sent to the committee.

Affiliates and conference leadership are regularly encouraged to apply for these grants in order to fulfil Mrs. Brown’s wish for ICJW’s future.
