ICJW will be co-sponsoring an event at the 2012 UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW56) together with the Anglican Women's Empowerment. 
The event is entitled: EMPOWERED: Rural Women 'Shout Out' and will feature a Vital Voices Global Partnerhip facilitator with three exemplary rural women from Ghana, the Philippines, and a Native American woman. Members of the audience will be invited to participate in their discussion and will have an opportunity to learn from empowered rural women about best practices for rural women. 
Anglican Women’s Empowerment is a membership movement of Episcopal / Anglican women and girls with a broad diversity of backgrounds, interests and skills who work for gender equity and social justice around the world. Vital Voices is a preeminent NGO that identifies, trains and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe. 
The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 1 at 2:30 at the Salvation Army auditorium on 52nd St. in New York City.
