International Women’s Day 2019

International Women’s Day (IWD) will be celebrated around the world on March 8, 2019

IWD, which began in 1911, celebrates the myriad achievements of women globally. ICJW affiliate organisations in many countries will hold or attend events focused on upgrading gender balance.

The 2019 IWD Campaign Theme is

BETTER THE BALANCE, BETTER THE WORLD.
#
BALANCE FOR BETTER

This year UN WOMEN urge the world’s women to Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change, while continuing to work within their Campaign Logo

Three days after International Women’s Day 2019, the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the largest annual gathering of the world’s women at the United Nations in New York, will be held from March 11- 22, 2019.

ICJW UN NY representatives have assisted in planning a CSW 63 Side Event: Critical Mass to Gender Parity – Women in Decision – Making Do Make a Difference which will be presented on March 14 at UN in New York. Click here for more details of this event.

International Council of Jewish Women is well-placed to speak for the world’s women. Maintaining a body of accredited representatives who attend UN NGO meetings in New York, Geneva, Vienna and Paris, ICJW interacts globally with many NGO representatives, sits on NGO committees and attends sessions of UN meetings.
