Dear friends,
It is with great humility and genuine excitement that I stand before you here in beautiful Mexico City to accept the presidency of the International Council of Jewish Women for the 2026–2030 term. Thank you to our Mexican affiliate, Women’s Federation of the Jewish Community of Mexico, and the organizing committee for working with Lilian and Vivian to make this convention extraordinary. Vivian, I appreciate all you have done to get me up to speed and look forward to continuing to work with you in new ways.
As I take on this responsibility, I am profoundly aware of the legacy I inherit—more than a century of advocacy, courage, and commitment to women and girls around the world. I feel both honoured and deeply mindful of those who have led before me, and I accept this role with a full heart and a strong sense of purpose. My vision for the next four years builds on the important transformation we have already begun together, grounded in our enduring mission: to represent Jewish women worldwide and to advocate for equality, human rights, ending discrimination and the empowerment of all women and girls.
Lilian, your leadership has been extraordinary—not only in what you have accomplished, but in how you have led. You have given so much of yourself to ICJW, always with strength, grace, and integrity. But beyond that, you have led with heart.
On a personal level, I cannot thank you enough—for your guidance, your patience, your encouragement, and most of all, your trust in me. You have taken the time to prepare me for this moment with such generosity and care. I truly value our friendship. I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned from you, and I am truly honoured to follow in your footsteps and to continue the work you have shaped with such vision and dedication.
I would have never taken on the presidency without the support from my family. My children, and in particular my husband, Jack, have encouraged me from the start to take on this role. Jack is always there by my side as my sounding board, mentor and cheerleader!
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to my Canadian affiliate (NCJWC), and especially to Linda Steinberg, its President. Your encouragement, confidence, and enthusiasm have meant so much to me. The experience I have gained through my work with the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada has prepared me in ways I deeply value, and I carry that foundation with me as I step into this role.
I am deeply committed to carrying forward the strategic plan that was so thoughtfully developed under Lilian’s leadership. Over the last few months in its development, I had the privilege of working with Sara Winkowski, Leonie de Picciotto , Felicia Anchor, Mary Liling, Gillian Gold and Lilian Grinberg, on the strategic planning committee. The thoughtful discussions reflect the deep commitment of our long time members who truly care about the future of ICJW. This work represents not just a plan, but a shared vision for our future—one shaped by collaboration, insight, and a desire to ensure that ICJW remains strong, relevant, and impactful. It is our responsibility now to bring that vision fully to life.
We are evolving as an organization—becoming more focused, more connected, and more effective. Our efforts to strengthen our leadership structure and enhance our communications are not simply structural changes; they are essential steps toward ensuring that our voice is heard clearly and powerfully in today’s world.
At the same time, we must also be guided by purpose and action. Advocacy must remain at the heart of what we do. We must speak with clarity and conviction—supporting Israel and its right to live in peace and security, standing firmly for justice, and giving voice to those who need us most. Whether through initiatives like the Dinah Project or alongside movements such as Women Wage Peace, our role is not only to bear witness, but to act.
We must also look ahead. Strengthening our global presence means embracing new tools, new ideas, and new generations of leadership. By welcoming and empowering younger women, and by equipping all of our leaders with the skills and technologies they need, we will ensure that ICJW will continue to thrive for generations to come.
Above all, what gives me the greatest sense of hope is the strength of this community. Across 34 countries, we are united—not by geography, but by shared values, shared purpose, and a deep commitment to making a difference.
I am truly honoured to serve as your President. I look forward to the work ahead, and to all that we will accomplish together.

Presidenta entrante, Consejo Internacional de Mujeres Judías (CIMJ)
Queridas amigas y amigos:
En esta hermosa Ciudad de México, con profunda emoción y con mucha humildad, me presento ante Uds. para aceptar la presidencia del Consejo Internacional de Mujeres Judías para el período 2026–2030. Mi agradecimiento a nuestras filiales mexicanas, y al comité organizador por trabajar junto a Lilian y Vivian para hacer de esta convención un evento realmente extraordinario. Gracias Vivian por toda tu ayuda para ponerme al día y espero seguir trabajando contigo, aunque sea de forma diferente.
Al asumir esta responsabilidad, estoy muy consciente del legado que heredo: más de un siglo de compromiso y valentía trabajando en defensa de la mujer y las niñas en todo el mundo. Me siento honrada y, a la vez muy responsable ante quienes me precedieron en el liderazgo. Acepto este cargo desde lo más profundo de mi corazón y con gran sentido de objetividad. Mi visión para los próximos cuatro años se basa en la importante transformación que ya hemos iniciado juntas, siempre guiadas por nuestra misión esencial: representar a la mujer judía a nivel mundial y abogar por la igualdad, los derechos humanos, el fin de la discriminación y el empoderamiento de todas las mujeres y niñas.
Lilian, tu liderazgo ha sido extraordinario. No solo por tus logros, sino por la forma en que llevaste adelante esta organización, Diste tanto de ti al CIMJ, siempre con fortaleza, elegancia e integridad. Pero, y sobre todo, lideraste con el corazón. En lo personal, no tengo palabras para agradecerte por tu orientación, tu paciencia, tu apoyo y, especialmente, por tu confianza en mí. Te tomaste el tiempo de prepararme para este momento con enorme generosidad y dedicación. Valoro profundamente nuestra amistad. Me siento inmensamente afortunada de haber aprendido de ti, y es un verdadero honor seguir tus pasos y continuar la labor que construiste con tanta visión y compromiso.
Tampoco habría aceptado la presidencia sin el apoyo incondicional de mi familia. Mis hijos, y en particular mi esposo Jack, que me alentaron desde el primer día a asumir este desafío. Jack siempre está a mi lado: como mi caja de resonancia, mi mentor y mi mayor hincha.
Quiero expresar también mi sincero agradecimiento a mi filial canadiense, y especialmente a Linda Steinberg, su presidenta. Su apoyo, confianza y entusiasmo significan muchísimo para mí. Valoro profundamente la experiencia adquirida en el Consejo Nacional de Mujeres Judías de Canadá, y llevo ese caudal al asumir este nuevo desafío.
Me siento profundamente comprometida para continuar con el plan estratégico elaborado con tanto cuidado bajo el liderazgo de Lilian. En los últimos meses tuve el privilegio de trabajar con Sara Winkowski, Leonie de Picciotto, Felicia Anchor, Mary Liling, Gillian Gold y Lilian Grinberg en el comité de planificación estratégico. Las sustantivas y meditadas discusiones reflejaron el firme compromiso de nuestras más antiguas integrantes que realmente se preocupan por el futuro del CIMJ. Este trabajo no es solo un plan: es una visión compartida de un futuro concebido claramente mediante la colaboración y el deseo de garantizar que el CIMJ continue su accionar con fortaleza, relevancia e influencia. Ahora nos corresponde asegurar que esta visión sea una realidad.
Estamos evolucionando como organización, volviéndonos más focalizadas, más conectadas y más eficaces. Nuestro esfuerzo por fortalecer la estructura de liderazgo y mejorar nuestra comunicación no es un mero cambio administrativo; son pasos esenciales para asegurar que nuestra voz se escuche con claridad y fuerza en el mundo actual.
Al mismo tiempo, debemos guiarnos por objetivos y acciones. La lucha por los derechos debe seguir siendo el foco de nuestro trabajo. Es necesario hablar claramente y con convicción: apoyar a Israel y su derecho a vivir en paz y seguridad, defender con firmeza la justicia y dando voz a quienes más nos necesitan. Ya sea a través de iniciativas como el Proyecto Dinah o mediante el trabajo conjunto con movimientos como Women Wage Peace; no podemos solo ser testigos, sino que tenemos que actuar.
Asimismo, necesitamos mirar hacia adelante. Fortalecer nuestra presencia global implica aceptar nuevas herramientas, nuevas ideas y nuevas generaciones de liderazgo. Al recibir y empoderar a mujeres jóvenes, y al brindar a todas nuestras líderes las capacidades y tecnologías necesarias, nos aseguramos que el CIMJ continue progresando durante generaciones.
Lo que me llena de esperanza, más que nada, es nuestra fortaleza. Con nuestras 34 filiales no nos une solo la geografía, sino los valores compartidos, los objetivos comunes y un profundo compromiso para generar un impacto real.
Es verdaderamente un honor servir como su presidenta. Tengo muchas expectativas por el trabajo que nos espera y por todos nuestros logros.
